How to Cure Acne The Simple Way
Across age, ethnicity, race, age, gender and demography, acne affects nearly every individual at least once during a lifetime. Thankfully, it is easy to cure acne and except for a temporary phase of embarrassment, acne does not lead to other complications nor is it a life-threatening problem. Though acne visits both men and women, women are more prone to acne. Women are more susceptible due to the use of cosmetics and hormonal changes during menstrual cycles and pregnancy. Teenagers are also particularly vulnerable to acne, but advanced age by itself, does not offer an insurance against acne. There are several simple ways to cure this problem and get the sheen back on your skin. Some of these measures to cure acne are examined in greater detail here:
1. Gentle Cleaning
A gentle approach to cleaning is essential to cure acne irrespective of whether it is evident on your face alone or if other parts of the body are also affected. Washing your face and other affected parts of the body with a mild cleanser and plenty of cold water (not chilled) starting beneath the jaw and moving up to the hairline can bring great relief. Repeat this exercise in the morning and evening making sure that the skin is rinsed thoroughly. For some people an oily skin may call for astringents and care should be taken to ensure that they are used only on the spots where the skin is oily. Scrub pads and strong soaps are not helpful to cure acne and are best avoided during the treatment phase.
2. Do not meddle with your acne
Meddling with acne is a problem commonly noticed among teenagers in particular. Pinching, rubbing, squeezing, picking blemishes and other forms of meddling with your acne can potentially leave you with scars and dark blotches. This practice does not help cure acne and is best avoided.
3. Shaving
For most men, regular shaving of the face is a necessity and acne presents tough challenges in accomplishing a smooth shave. Men affected by acne should try the electric razor and the safety razor during the initial days to determine comfort levels. When a safety razor is the option, use a sharp blade and ensure that the face is deeply softened using soap and water before applying shaving cream. Be very gentle with the shaving process and try to increase the interval between shaves. Sometimes it is the shaving that can cause a breakout. This is because the hair follicle is cut close to the skin, and a new hair growth pushing up from underneath the skin can cause a build up and produce a pimple or blemish.
4. Cosmetics
To cure acne in the shortest space of time, you should be very careful with the type of cosmetics you choose. Though cosmetics are so very important for women in particular, pay special attention to the moisturizers, foundation, eye shadow, and hair care products to ensure that all of them are oil free. Carefully study the labels on your cosmetics and look for the noncomedogenic property. Cosmetics having this property will work against promoting closed pores and thus be a huge help to cure acne. In some forms of acne however, almost every cosmetic can pose a major threat when you are trying to cure acne.
Finally, when you scour the Internet, you will find a number of other tips to cure acne and maintain clean skin but each of them come with a different degree of efficacy. Acne soaps and Acne cleansers are particularly helpful in eliminating the root cause of acne breakouts.
